Our lightly sweetened matcha combines ceremonial grade, stone milled matcha with first flush tencha tea leaves and raw cane sugar for a balance of distinctive grassy matcha flavor and a hint of sweetness. Saka Matcha is ceremonial grade matcha, sourced from a third generation, family-owned Japanese company. Shade grown in Shizuoka, near Mt. Fuji – the most prized tea growing region – first flush tencha is harvested each Spring. Freshly picked tencha is steamed, dried and then stone ground into vibrant green matcha powder with a distinctive sweet, slightly sweet grassy flavor.

Wanted to like this more
I love matcha. So I was excited about this option, especially since it did not contain artificial sweeteners. However, I was disappointed. It has a strong plastic taste to me. I am not sure whether it is from the pod, since I do not have that issue with any of the coffee pods. I wanted to like this product more than I actually did.

Delicious!
Extremely well balanced and smooth! It’s sweet, but not overly sweet, and the matcha flavor is excellent. It goes really nicely with vanilla almond milk!

Pretty good!
Not bad for a pod brewer, but I wish they offered an unsweetened version. I prefer honey over sugar. Also, brews are typically good, but I am now on my third brewer and it’s starting to have issues. Not sure why, but the pumps seem to go bad. Bruvi has been great about sending replacements though.
