Founded in 2016 by Sarah Wolf, Wolf Ceramics is a small pottery studio based in Hood River, Oregon, just outside of Portland. Sarah and her team of artists take inspiration from the shapes and patterns of the natural world to create useful and beautiful ceramics that elevate the daily rituals of life.
Their designs are each little works of art, with carefully considered shapes and beautiful colors and patterns. We love that they source their clay locally and hand make, trim, glaze and fire each piece.
These mugs and cups are also functional for daily use. They feel good in your hand, are dishwasher and microwave safe.

How to choose a coffee mug
Choosing your coffee mug is a personal decision but there are four basic considerations: size, material and shape and design.
Some of us love a giant mug of coffee; others prefer a small cup at a time so they can enjoy hot coffee. It may also depending if you're brewing one cup at a time, such as with a Bruvi brewer. Or if you're an espresso lover, a small espresso cup can enhance your drinking experience. When it comes to size, you do you.
Materials make a big difference in your overall experience. Ceramic and glass mugs are best for ensuring there's no flavor retention from earlier brews. They also feel good in your hand and provide the best canvas for a beautifully designed mug or cup. We're not fans of plastic cups as they stain, retain flavors and just aren't as durable. Stainless is great for travel mugs and for heat retention. If you're looking for easy care, check whether the mug is dishwasher safe or requires handwashing. Fortunately, you can also find ceramic and glass mugs at a range of price points too.
The shape of your cup can also enhance your experience by offering better feel and stability in your hand. An uncomfortable handle or too thick of a rim can detract from your enjoyment. Often lattes are served in a cup or mug with wide opening but that also means your coffee may cool more quickly - for better or for worse! A mug with a more narrow top than bottom can help keep your coffee hot longer, as well as providing a distinctive form.
