Bruvi's® Holiday Gift Guide
Are you currently on the hunt for the perfect holiday gift for those who made your nice list? Since this year has been tough enough, we’re here to make finding gifts for those coffee lovers in your life a breeze. Get some inspiration from this list and check off those names early as the last-minute holiday shopping frenzy is right around the corner.
Gift an Awesome Mug
The perfect coffee vessel is more important to the overall sensory experience than you might think. In a normal year, many are drinking from paper cups at their local shops, but this year, everything is different with more people drinking coffee at home. Contrary to popular belief, this is far from an impersonal gift and, with the right amount of thought, can be very meaningful.
Things to consider when picking a coffee cup for a loved one are lifestyle, drink preference, interests and even social impact. For example, if you have someone who is adventurous or on the go, think about an insulated metal coffee cup that is extremely durable and will keep their coffee hot throughout the day. On the other hand, if you have someone who is very eco-minded, you might want to be sure to buy a cup from a company with a give-back component or that uses recycled materials. Pair it with some sustainable coffee and you’re good to go! You’d be surprised at the options out there, chances are, if you can dream it, it exists.

Support Your Local Roasters
2020 has been a very trying time for small businesses. Owning and operating a coffee shop is a tough gig in a normal year, but layer on a pandemic that forces you to shut your doors or change your business has pushed many to the brink of closure. With at-home coffee consumption higher than ever before, this would be an excellent time to give the gift of a unique coffee from a local roaster that can use your support. If you will be shipping this to a loved one, try ordering from a shop that is in their area to benefit their respective coffee community and minimize the carbon footprint associated with shipping.
Depending on their level of coffee sophistication, a single origin offering, exquisite Geisha or a specialty coffee that has undergone a unique process, can all be great gifts.
Coffee-Related Donation
This is in the same vein as supporting your local coffee community. If you have someone on your list that seems to have it all, this may be a great time to make a coffee-related donation in their name.
Consider donating to a barista relief fund, helping to support those impacted firsthand by shop closures. Additionally, many coffee roasters are selling products (retail bags or merchandise) with a donation component to support the coffee community. Lastly, you can donate to a coffee-related charity that aims to impact the growing communities across the world. Many of these coffee communities are seriously underdeveloped and face immense poverty. After all, this is the season for giving, so it’s a good time to focus on helping those whose needs may be greater than our own.
Fun Coffee Tools
Even for those that seemingly have every piece of coffee gear out there, I promise you, there is always a newer or better gadget that would make a great gift. First, think about different brewing methods such as pour over, French press and espresso. If this person doesn’t have the tools to do any of those, among others, that is a great starting point. Also, try to tailor your gift to their coffee preference. For example, if you have a diehard espresso fanatic, think about getting them a new tamper or distribution tool. If you have a latte lover, consider getting them a new milk frothing pitcher. If you have a coffee drinker that still buys pre-ground beans, run out now and get them a coffee grinder that will literally change their lives. The options here are endless and can satisfy all budgets from low to high.
Coffee Education
For those interested in sharpening their coffee skills, the holiday season is an excellent time to learn something new. With more virtual coffee classes than ever before, consider giving the gift of knowledge this season. From cupping to latte art, beginner to advanced, there is a course for everything and everyone. Also, there is a ton of amazing coffee literature out there, so if an online course isn’t in the cards, a simple coffee book can always do the trick.
Coffee Roasting
Early on in this pandemic, everyone seemed to take up a new hobby. Chances are you tried your hand at baking some bread or even a new at-home workout routine. You can also give the gift of a new hobby to the coffee lover in your life. For even novice coffee drinkers, a simple home roaster will allow them to learn the basics of roasting their own coffee. For those that haven’t done it before, there is nothing as satisfying as brewing a cup of coffee that you roasted yourself!
At Home Brewer
Working from home is our new norm, and while this current routine takes some getting used to, it shouldn’t come at the cost of access to amazing coffee. The ultimate gift is one that checks all the boxes from new innovative technology to brewing flexibility and social impact, Bruvi. While coffee brewers won't be shipping until 2021, you can sign up for updates now and know that your beloved coffee fanatic will be the first to have the coolest brewer in town as soon as it is available. Now that is a holiday gift win in my book!
